To keep up with the ever-changing fixture requirements Arcadia Test has 3D printing capabilities in-house with our MakerBot 3D printer. Along with our Solidworks software this has become an invaluable tool for producing custom parts such as component holders, alignment tools for unusual connectors, etc..
We have also used the printer as a design prototype tool whereas we can produce and try various designs before we finalize any particular design. Gone are the days of spending hours of machine time only to have to start over due to a small design change. Now we can make the adjustment and have a new part in minutes rather than hours or days.
This has allowed us to be creative and fast to meet our customer's needs. Of course as we get faster and better this can only mean good things for our customers in terms of speed and costs.
